"This is what he wants...for us to be broken, fractured and fall. The choice is yours...be driven by evil or stand against it."
-Chason Datara, Saarai-kaar
FORCE SHADOW
Two years ago, on Susefvi, the Saarai-kaar of the Jensaarai sought to protect his people from the encroaching galaxy and Jedi activity growing in their sector. Events unfolded on the seventh moon of Suarbi whose effects can still be felt.
Within the Jensaarai, a rift was beginning to form between those who followed their Saarai-kaar, Chason Datara, and those who wished to force the Jedi from the planet and reclaim it as their own. In an attempt to mediate between both sides, Chason welcomed a Jedi ambassador, Myras Amaida, to Susefvi in hopes of showing that both traditions could co-exist. While dealing with the pressure of a possible schism, Chason fell victim to a trap left by Darth Tyris in the mountain ruins of the original Jensaarai. What happened next sealed his fate and nearly destroyed the Jensaarai altogether.
Acting as the Force Spirit, Nihilus, Chason broke the wills of many Defenders, including his apprentice Naluth, and brought about the complete destruction of the Jensaarai headquarters - killing dozens. When Naluth finally freed her master of the Dark Side, it was too late. A Jedi-hating Jensaarai named Anselm Arklite and a dashade mercenary he hired hunted down Cay and Naluth in the ancient tunnels beneath Yumfla. Naluth attempted to save her master, but Anselm was blind to her words, wanting only the blood of his Saarai-kaar. The mercenary Besial, gunned down Chason with his brutal guns and Anselm used the Dark Side to collapse the caves unto Chason. Before he died, Chason used his powers to move Naluth away from the attack and named her his successor. Feeling that he was justified in his attack but too much of a coward to face the truth, Anselm took his own life.
Now as the new Saarai-kaar, Naluth blinded Besial with the coins that Anselm had promised as payment, and called a Jensaarai Blood Hunt on the dashade - a decree that his life was forfeit, that the Jensaarai would grant him no mercy and hunt him down to the ends of the galaxy. Besial retreated in anguish and hiding somewhere on Susefvi.
