YEVETHAN RANGERS
"The Last Children of N'Zoth
"We Yevetha are skilled in matters of making. It is a gift of our very being. These hands are sure. These minds learn quickly."
- Nil Spaar

The Yevetha were a lithe, skeletal species indigenous to N'Zoth in the Koornacht Cluster, known for their xenophobia and death-centered culture. Blood and sacrifice were an essential part of Yevetha culture. Yevetha were known to suffer from a disease called gray death. By the end of the Yuuzhan Vong war, the Yevetha species had been completely wiped out by the extra-galactic invaders. The planet of N'Zoth had been bombarded to a molten wasteland.
However, within Luke Skywalker's Great River, a Yevetha member of the Antarian Rangers survived. Zarle Kithe (codename: Void) had long ago forsaken his people and their rage against the galaxy. During the Black Fleet crisis, Void sided with the Jedi and the New Republic. Though he disagreed with much of his lost people's ways, part of their culture was forever within him. Zarle had managed to control his xenophobia and gain the trust of the Jedi. From that day after, Zarle was determined to leave the galaxy with a brighter memory of the Yevetha. He made it his life's goal to change the Yevetha legacy from bloodthirsty savages to honorable warriors.
The new Yevetha were trained in the basic culture of the race and many titles were kept as the name Yevetha passed from species to organization. The Darama was the head and uncontested ruler of the Yevetha. It was his duty to lead his people both spiritually and militarily. Zarle took the mantle as Darama - the first to do so since Nil Spaars' war against the New Republic. It was the Darama who was contacted by the Jedi and delegated those jobs to the Yevetha under his command.
Originally the Yevetha based themselves alongside the Jedi. However, Zarle feared that this parallel training would give enemies of the Jedi too great a target. If anyone were to attack, as inconceivable as such an attack would be, both the Jedi and their military allies would be destroyed. To avoid exposure, Zarle relocated the Yevetha to a hidden base. Corporate Sector ally to the Jedi, Chason Datara, supplied the original funds for such a secret operation, providing the Yevetha with the perfect way to stay hidden. Giat Nor, a hyperdrive-retrofitted sky hook named after the former capital of N'Zoth, became the new home of the so-called Jedi army. Access codes to Giat Nor's communication frequencies were given only to members of the Jedi Council, and the location supplied only to the Grand Master of Order.
From Giat Nor, the Darama and his private council, the Dushkan League, served the Jedi Order and the Force. The chief positions of the League were the Darama's must trusted soldiers, representing his second-in-command and the three main branches of the Yevetha. The C'Rel, named for the primary star of N'Zoth, was the highest rank of the League and second only to the Darama amoung the Yevetha. It was the C'Rel who would replace the Darama when the leader was gone. The C'Rel were chosen by the Darama from members of the League. For the most part, the C'Rel acted as the 'public' face for the Dushkan League. The three other positions of the League were named for the former moons of N'Zoth. Each position led the Yevetha in one form separate from the others but were all equal within the League.
The Pa'aal was the master of combat, focusing the ways of the Yevetha as warriors first and formost. While some would claim that the Pa'aal was more important than any other, the Darama made it clear that without the other two, the Pa'aal was nothing. The Pa'rak focused on the piloting skills of the Yevetha, teaching the art of dogfighting and galactic hunting. A popular tool for training was a vicious highspeed race through the remains of N'Zoth's moons - now nothing more than shattered rock. Last but not least wihtin the Dushkan League was the Pa'red. The Pa'red were devoted to the original Yevetha's thirst for knowledge and mastery of technology. It was from within the ranks of the Pa'red, that the signature weapons of the Yevetha were created, including the replicated Dew Claw.
Outside of the Dushkan League, other titles and terms were retained. Newly initiated Yevetha were referred to as mara-nas, the Yevetha word for child. Once these members had proven themselves in service, they were considered true Yevetha and placed within a squad, or cluster. The leader of each cluster was the proctor. Six clusters formed a cask and the proctors of each cask were led by a primate. The primates were seen as the generals of the Yevetha and took their orders directly from the Dushkan League. A typical cluster was comprised of members from each branch to provide optimum efficiency for the Jedi client. Those Yevetha who committed themselves absolutely and rose time and again above the call of duty were given the title of Siringana, after N'Zoth's fiercest predator. So great was this creature's abilities, that the Yevetha species regarded them with almost religious respect. Unfortunately, since the demanded requirements for this title were so high, the title was often bestowed posthumously. The right to name the Siringana belonged solely to the C'Rel. Even the Darama was held to this law.
The signature equipment of the Yevetha was a suit of creshaldyne armor and a retractable wrist blade called a Dew Claw.
It was rare to find a Force-user in the ranks of the Yevetha but not completely unheard of. Zarle was aware of the temptations of the dark side and did not want his legacy to become one of darkness. Force-users who wished to join the Yevetha were encouraged to instead enlist in the Jedi Order. Those who did become Yevetha were watched carefully both by the Dushkan League and the Jedi Order.
