Adepts and Defenders alike looked up as Ronet walked through the halls of the hidden Enclave. They could feel it in the Force - his frustration and anger. Ronet made no pretense of stuffing his emotions down or pretending he wasn't effected. He was very frustrated and he was very very angry. Frustrated with the results of his most recent hunt and angry at himself for having to report yet another failure to his Master. The dried mud and other refuse stuck to his armor and the odor only worsened his emotional state. He had been so close this time. He had actually managed to catch sight of his prey roaming in the sewers near the ocean port. Two days, Ronet had waited down there for it. Two days in the filth, focused on nothing but his mission. But it, his prey, that thing that had slain the last Saarai-kaar... it had escaped.
Even blinded as it was by his Master's attack, Besial, the killer, had moved through the sewers with all the grace of a natural predator. Completely at home in the filth and darkness.
"Damn," Ronet cursed to himself as he stopped at the door to the Saarai-kaar's chamber. He exhaled his frustration and depressed the panel beside the door, activating the chime in the chamber.

Naluth sat cross-legged on the floor of her chambers, meditating.
Or at least, attempting to. The events of the day had left her feeling somewhat agitated, though she could not exactly pinpoint why. She had spent the last hour in silence, regulating her breathing, her eyes focused on nothing, until blissful silence and clarity came upon her, and the sense of everything and everyone about her. The people on the streets above, moving quickly through the chilling rain, the ships through the sky above them, and above all of them, the skyhook...
We have ignored their presence too long...
Another deep breath, and peace...
A gift will be brought...
Another...
A price paid, but the future, in scattered lights like glass and leaves. We must-
The agitation first, and then the smell broke the thoughts. By the time the chime had sounded, Naluth was already to her feet. She spoke through the emotionless voice of her helmet's modulator.
"ENTER."

As soon as he heard his Saarai-kaar's voice give the command to enter, Ronet suddenly regretted not stopping in his own chambers for a quick jump in the refresher. He had been so focused he had never considered it. And now, now he realized it didn't matter. He had been hunting. If anyone was going to understand that, it was the Saarai-kaar.
As the door slid open Ronet removed his helmet and stepped in. He bowed before the master of the Jensaarai, "My master. I have ill news of my latest hunt." He spoke as calm as he could despite his emotions. "The thing escaped me once again."

It was no surprise, given the young defender's agitation, but Naluth swallowed her own frustration. Two years, two years without any progress. So many Jensaarai dead when Besial Nosra-grotz Mureddok first fled the temple, leaving destruction and death in his wake. And now the beast continued to elude them , even her best hunter.
Naluth paused to let the news sink in, and turned to face Ronet.
"WHAT HAPPENED."

At first, Ronet was slow to negin. He wasn't exactly sure where to begin, actually. He steadied his thoughts and exhaled. Finally he gave the Saarai-kaar all the details he could recall.
Another carcass floated by in the water of these sewers. Half eaten, half decayed, all cover in refuse. This one wore rags similar to the uniforms of the Dauntless Trading Company that frequented the harbor. The fear of the man's final moments emanated off the corpse in the Force. Ronet had all but shut himself down, using the Jensaarai technique to remain hidden, undetected. This was the third sign of the prey he had seen this morning. Surely, the creature was hiding somewhere near the harbor of Yumfla.
Ronet wondered if perhaps it had actually left the city. Maybe that was why it had been so long since he had any signs of his prey. But the Jensaarai had been notified planetwide of the blood hunt called on this one. Surely if any signs had surfaced of it somewhere else, ROnet would have heard about it.
The Defender checked his chrono. How long had he been down here? Most of the morning had past, the sunlight on the surface above would be nearly at it's peak. Then the shadow moved. Ronet inhaled. Held his breath. Waited. It was difficult to make out at first. Like a passing shadow out of the corner of one's eye. But as he focused, he could see the outline of the dashade killer. Slowly, almost imperceptibly, Ronet moved his hands down to two of his lightsabers. This was it. Besial had finally come out at last. Ronet noted how it moved as though the darkness was nothing. Even physically blinded, the dashade was formidable and adapted to survive.
Before he could make his move, it stopped suddenly, sniffing the air. There was no way Ronet would be detected. He had been down here long enough that the wretched odor of the sewers cover his own. Next he knew, Besial was changing direction, moving away from the Jensaarai. Cursing to himself as he exhaled his breath, Ronet made to follow. That was when he lost the beast. Had Besial known all along that he was there? Had the predator become the prey?
The alarm in the Force gave Ronet enough time to throw himself back before the explosion could. When the dust and settled and vision return, the beast was gone.

"THING. PREY. I HAVE MADE THIS MISTAKE AS WELL. BEAST." Naluth smiled behind her mask. "THIS IS OUR MISTAKE. THIS IS NO ANIMAL. THIS IS A MAN. DESTRUCTIVE. MURDEROUS. BUT STILL A SENTIENT BEING. WE WOULD DO WELL TO REMEMBER THAT." Naluth was silent for a moment before continuing. "BESIAL NOSRA-GROTZ MUREDDOK IS MARKED FOR THE BLOOD HUNT. HE MUST DIE BEFORE HE CAUSES ANY MORE DEATHS. PERHAPS YOU REQUIRE A HUNTING PARTNER."

Ronet chided himself internally. He had fail in his hunt before it had even begun. He had animalized his prey. Underestimated his cunning and power. Ronet had, in fact, almost guaranteed he would not be successful. The Defender lowered his head. "Yes master," he said solemnly, "I will ask for aid on this hunt."

The Saarai-kaar shook her head. "NO DEFENDER. I HAVE A DIFFERENT IDEA IN MIND." Turning to her desk, Naluth glanced at the report of the Skyhook in the sky over Susevfi, and the enclave that lived there. "THE JEDI HAVE KEPT IN CONTACT WITH US AND LEFT AN OPEN OFFER OF ASSISTANCE. THEY HOPE FOR A PEACE WITH US. THEY HAVE RESPECTED US SO FAR AND KEPT OFF OF THIS WORLD." Naluth turn back to face Ronet. "I THINK I SHALL CONTACT THEIR LEADER AND SEE HOW FAR THEIR OFFER EXTENDS."
